The Samburu self-drive expedition reaches Kenya’s northern frontier to find the five species found nowhere else in East Africa — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. Samburu National Reserve is 350 km north of Nairobi in a dry-country landscape completely unlike the Mara or Amboseli.
