- Black rhino: Approximately 30 individuals — the densest black rhino population in East Africa. Best seen near Lerai Forest and the Mandusi Hippo Pool area, dawn and dusk.
- Lion: 6 prides totalling approximately 60 individuals — a higher lion density per km² than the Serengeti. Dawn circuit almost always produces sightings.
- Cheetah: Small resident population on the short-grass plains.
