The Tarangire Elephant Trail targets the dry-season (July–October) concentration of 2,500+ elephants at the Tarangire River — the highest elephant density of any Tanzania national park in the dry season, when elephants from across the Tarangire-Manyara ecosystem funnel to the permanent river water. Tarangire is also Tanzania’s best baobab landscape — ancient trees rising above elephant herds produce the most photogenic park scenery in the northern circuit.
